Roger D. Russell-Roger D. Russell, 74, of Chillicothe, passed away at 10:25 a.m. on Saturday January 19, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on August 1, 1938 in Peoria to the late Linus and Mildred (Crotz) Russell. He married Crystal A. Russell on June 1, 1958 in Lacon; she survives.
Also surviving are daughters Anita (Jack) Hart, of Sparland, and Cindy Berg, of Chillicothe; son Jimmie Russell, of Kuttawa, KY; grandchildren Stacey Streitmatter, Mindy Adams, David Adams, Kristi Adams, Diane Thompson, Kendra Sanders, Trista Sanders, Jennifer Russell, Christopher Russell, and Melanie Russell; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Diane K. Holt, of Marshall, TX.
He was preceded in death by one niece, Jackie Holt-Foster.
Roger was retired from JT Fennel, where he worked for over 25 years. He owned Russell Disposal in Chillicothe for over 10 years, which is now Wigand. He was a member of the Chillicothe Sportsman Club, the 15 Club in Lacon, and a former member of the Casting Club. He was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt.
Roger was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be on Thursday January 24, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lacon Congregational Church. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
